It is very important for creative directors to have communication skills. As a creative director, you are constantly working with people and collaborating. Creative directors also need problem-solving skills and presentation skills since they are often presenting their ideas to others. Creative directors should try to be patient when working with others. Creative directors should be creative and artistic.
To gain experience to become a creative director, during high school try to take classes such as communications or beginning graphic design classes as well as marketing classes. It is good to take classes that require teamworking skills.
I am suited for this career because I am currently taking art classes next semester to better my artistic skills. In a lot of my classes, I use collaboration techniques to better communicate with people, especially the people that annoy me.
The personality characteristics that I possess that would benefit me in this job are I am a very patient person. I am also very tolerant of people and it is easy for me to get along with most people. For a creative director to be successful, they need to easily collaborate with people and I believe myself to collaborate easily with people.
