Typical Day

When getting to work at about 9 am, a creative director usually starts brainstorming or reviewing ideas. Every day for a creative director will vary. By noon, ideas are being presented with a team or to your team. Those who are department managers keep their team on task. Throughout the day, ideas are being killed or made, as a creative director said. The same creative director said that mentoring and inspiring is a big part of a typical day as well.

Wall Clock

The usual hours for a creative director are from 9 am-5 pm. However, some of the time, it is necessary for a creative director to come in before work hours and stay a little after in order to get things down or get a head start.

The best parts of the day for some creative directors are brainstorming ideas and perfecting them. However, for some people, that is their least favorite part of the day because some people may be disagreeable.

The most challenging part of the day for creative directors is presenting their ideas. People have a lot of opinions and may hate your idea or they may love it. For other creative directors, this can be their favorite part of their day because you get to share an idea that may mean a lot to you.
